My Alternate Life

In my alternate life, I am a comic book artist. Calvin and Hobbes quality, but about sibling superheroes or a girl who thinks in math and science. All of my jokes are hilarious, and it's never hard to come up with a storyline. I never get bored. Also, I don't burn my food, I wear cool socks everyday and my feet don't get hot, and I ride to work on a pega-uni-sus-corn.

Yeah, my other life is pretty sweeeeeeet.

There is a story we tell that goes like this: a person has a dream. They have always known what career they want to pursue. They work hard. They have some successes and failures, at some points they aren’t sure if it will work out, there are bends in the road they didn’t foresee. If I Had a Wedding Reception We Would Throw Tomatoes

Disclaimer: This is not a specific critique of any wedding reception I have attended or will attend. I love you all, and I have loved getting to take part in your special day(s). Beginning with being kitchen help as a 12-year-old Beehive, I have attended approximately one bajillion wedding receptions. That's what Provo is famous for right? Marriages coming out the whazoo. Attending so many wedding receptions--indoor and outdoor, cheap and expensive, fun and not-so-fun--well, it wears on you. Even receptions for your dearest friends are still a parade of repeating tropes: sign the guest book, eat the food, dance the dance, cut the cake, and (always, always) do the send-off with sparklers or bubbles. Literally, I am convinced that someone is rich off a company that only sells tiny bottles of bubbles to Mormon wedding receptions. Hey everybody, welcome to my blog! I know I've been sort of opposed to having a blog, but as I'm going to Uganda for a month my friends and family suggested that I start one in order to chronicle my adventures. So I consented, although whether or not it will live past August 8th has yet to be determined. I may yet fall in love with posting my thoughts to the world, who can tell?
